Leadership Failure Part Two

Carlos Aguilar is a coward

Why did the CEO of Texas Central step down abruptly on June 13, 2022, leaving a spineless organization behind him? It’s the source of a million questions that both Dallasites and Houstonians have and will be asking for a long time. I really believe that if Texas Central had been run by someone even a little bit smart from the start, both cities would be on their way to an urban revolution.

Carlos Aguilar did not give a specific reason for his resignation. Nobody knows how, when, or why he really resigned. He stated that he was proud of his team’s achievements and that he would be announcing his next steps soon. He also said that he was sure Texas Central would keep moving the project forward.

I think that Carlos’ confidence was clearly misguided considering the situation the project is in. This project would totally revamp the economies of both Houston and Dallas and put both cities on the map. Unfortunately, it is unknown whether Aguilar’s organization was ever legitimate.

Texans, Houstonians, and Dallasites all deserved better.

I’ll be back on Monday with more about our great city.
